We're Gamers, Building for Gamers

It was a Tuesday. The sign-ups for 'Project Titan,' a game we'd been tracking for two years, went live at 10 AM. By the time we saw the tweet at 2 PM, the doors were closed. The beta was full. The familiar feeling of disappointment was the final straw.

How many times had this happened? How many closed alphas, network tests, and exclusive betas had we missed because we were in class, at work, or simply not glued to social media 24/7? Too many. We knew there had to be a better way—a direct line from the developer's announcement to the player's pocket, with no noise in between.

That night, the first lines of code for GoPlayBeta were written. It started as a simple script for our own group of friends, but we quickly realized this was a problem every serious gamer faced. That script evolved into the service you see today, built on the principle that your passion for gaming shouldn't be limited by your ability to constantly refresh a webpage.
